High West – Double Rye Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

High West Double Rye is an American rye whiskey from Utah, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It blends two rye whiskies aged between 2 and 7 years. The younger one has a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley malt from MGP and is distilled in a column still. The older is 80% rye and 20% malted rye, made at High West and distilled in a copper pot still, which adds a richer, bolder character with some caramel sweetness and woody vanilla. It is described as spicy, with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
