High West – Double Rye Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

High West Double Rye is a Utah rye whiskey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It blends column-still and pot-still rye whiskeys, aged for a minimum of two years, and comes from what is called Utah's first legal distillery since 1870. The blend is built around the bold spice of high-rye whiskeys, with a botanical brightness running alongside it. The nose brings mint, clove, cinnamon, liquorice root, pine nuts and dark chocolate, with gin-like botanicals throughout. On the palate, rye spice leads into menthol, mint, eucalyptus, herbal tea, wildflower honey and allspice. The finish is cinnamon and mint, sweetening gradually with a hint of aniseed.
