High West Rendezvous Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys from High West in Park City, Utah, and this bottle is from Batch 20B12. It marries a 95% rye whiskey from MGP in Indiana with High West's own pot still distillate of 80% rye and 20% malted rye. The component whiskeys are aged in new charred American oak, and it is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added flavour.
The nose offers orange peel, dried apricots, mint, clove, pine and caramelised sugar. On the palate, ginger and cinnamon lead to molasses, vanilla, macaroon and toasted oak. The finish carries lively rye spice, fading to caramel, orange zest and tobacco.
