High West Rendezvous Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys from High West Distillery in Park City, Utah, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle.
It marries a 95 percent rye whiskey from MGP in Indiana with High West's own 80 percent rye and 20 percent malted rye pot still distillate. The components are aged in new charred American oak, and the whiskey is non-chill-filtered with no added flavour.
It is rich golden honey in colour. The nose offers orange peel, dried apricots, mint, clove, pine and caramelised sugar. On the palate come ginger, cinnamon, molasses, vanilla, macaroon and toasted oak, and the finish carries rye spice fading to caramel, orange zest and tobacco.
