Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour is the core single malt from the Highland Park Distillery in Kirkwall, on the Orkney Islands. The distillery was founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson and is owned by The Edrington Group.
The whisky is matured mainly in first-fill, sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks.
The nose is fresh and floral, with heather, Manuka honey and light peat smoke, along with lemon and grapefruit. The palate is rounded and fairly full, with Seville oranges, spiced fruitcake, burnt orange and jasmine. The finish is long, with heather, pepper and a trace of Orkney peat smoke.
