Highland Park 15 Year Old 'Viking Heart' is a single malt Scotch from the Orkney Islands, bottled at 44%. The distillery was founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson and still uses traditional floor maltings for part of its production.
It is matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak and first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak, with a small share of refill casks added to keep the heathery peat smoke present. The colour is natural golden amber.
The nose brings crème brûlée, heather honey, cinnamon, pineapple and lemon zest. The palate is creamy, with sponge cake, vanilla, cinnamon and citrus. The finish is mellow and medium in length, with peat smoke, vanilla and toasty spice.
