Highland Park 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Kirkwall on Orkney, where the distillery was founded in 1798. It is bottled at 43% in a 700ml bottle and sits within the Viking Pride series.
The whisky was matured with a high proportion of first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks. Orcadian peat smoke is part of the character, described as heathery and aromatic.
The nose offers rich toffee, dried fruit, heathery smoke, vanilla and fresh oak. The palate is full and warming, with dried fruit, cinnamon, mocha and a little heather peat. The finish is long, balancing peat and sweetness.
