Highland Park – 1990 19 Year Old The Dragon Robertsons of Kirkwall Single Cask 7616/900003 (70cl, 52.4%)

A 19-year-old Highland Park single malt, distilled in 1990 and bottled by Robertsons of Kirkwall under the Dragon label at a natural cask strength of 52.4%, in a 70cl bottle. It was first matured in Oloroso sherry cask 7616 and then moved to bourbon cask 900003. The Dragon name and label illustration take their inspiration from a 12th-century carving left by Norse Crusaders inside Maes Howe, a prehistoric chambered tomb on Orkney. The original notes describe a honey and straw colour, a nose of toffee, caramel and vanilla, cream and marzipan on the palate, and a dry, smooth, long finish.
