This is a 19-year-old Highland Park single malt, distilled in 1990 and bottled by Robertsons of Kirkwall as part of their The Dragon series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 54.9%. The whisky was first matured in Oloroso sherry cask number 7616, then moved to bourbon cask number 900001. It is one of three single cask bottlings from consecutive bourbon casks. The series is named after a 12th-century Norse carving inside Maeshowe, a chambered tomb on Orkney, and the label shows the dragon. The back label describes a golden straw colour, with subtle smoke and honeyed sweetness on the nose. The palate has light smoke and marzipan sweetness, leading to a short, dry finish.
