This is a 21 year old Highland Park single malt from Orkney, a limited release drawn from casks filled in 1998 and bottled in November 2019. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky was matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European and American oak, and shows gentle peat smoke, honeyed sweetness and refined spice.
On the nose there is heather honey, dried orange peel, soft peat smoke, vanilla and warm oak. The palate offers rich malt sweetness, toffee, spiced fruit, nutmeg and subtle smokiness, and the finish is long, smooth and gently smoky, with sherry and oak lingering.
