Highland Park 25 Year Old is a single malt matured on Orkney for a quarter of a century. It was made from just 12 casks: five first-fill European oak sherry hogsheads, two first-fill American oak sherry casks and five virgin American oak hogsheads. Master whisky maker Gordon Motion selected them and married them together.
The nose offers sweet coconut, honeyed violets and warm, oaky spice. The palate brings lychee, ripe Seville oranges, oak-smoked coconut and heathery peat smoke, followed by aniseed and fresh rosemary. Peat smoke lingers and builds in the finish.
