Highland Park 30 Year Old is a single malt matured for three decades in a combination of European and American oak casks. It is bottled at natural strength. The long maturation lets the Orkney peat smoke soften alongside honeyed sweetness, dried fruit, spice and polished oak. The malt is lightly peated, so the smoke is balanced rather than intense.
The nose offers heather honey, dried fruit and soft smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, toffee, orange peel and nutmeg over gentle peat. The finish is very long and warming, with oak spice and honeyed smoke.
