Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 2 is a single malt from the distillery in Kirkwall, Orkney. It is bottled at 63.9% in a 70cl bottle, straight from the cask without water added to reduce its strength.
Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion selected mainly sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, along with a few ex-bourbon casks.
Summer rose, ripe pear and fresh coconut sit over aromatic peat smoke on the nose. The palate offers poached pear, rich almond cake, cloudy honey and salty liquorice. The long finish brings orchard fruits, black pepper and sweet aniseed.
