A single malt from Highland Park, bottled at 43.1% in a 70cl bottle. Its name draws on a Viking legend in which the warrior Sigurd gained magical powers after killing a dragon and tasting its blood.
The malt is more heavily peated than is usual for the distillery. It spends its whole maturation in American and European sherry casks, which contribute sweet, fruity notes.
The nose is spicy and strong, with sherry and peat smoke. On the palate there are citrus fruit, sweet honey, vanilla and peat smoke. The finish is long and smoky.
