Highland Park The Light is a 17 year old single malt from Orkney, released as a limited edition and created as the counterpart to The Dark. It draws on the Nordic seasons and the long summer days of the north, and is bottled at 52.9% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky is matured predominantly in American oak sherry-seasoned casks. The bottle is green and sits in a handcrafted wooden frame with Norse carvings.
The nose offers fresh pear, crisp apple, heather honey, citrus zest and gentle aromatic smoke. On the palate are creamy vanilla, oak spice, nutmeg, light toffee, orchard fruit and subtle Orkney peat. The finish is long and warming, with sweet spice, soft smoke and honeyed oak.
