Highland Park Viking Heart is a 15 year old Scotch single malt, bottled at 44% ABV in a 70cl porcelain decanter. The lead-free decanter is glazed inside and out and embossed with a lion and serpent design.
Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion chose mainly sherry-seasoned European oak casks for warm, spicy notes and sherry-seasoned American oak for sweet vanilla, with a few refill casks added to soften the flavours. The strength was set to let the fruitiness and heathery peat smoke come through.
The nose offers crème brûlée, heather honey and cinnamon, followed by fresh pineapple, lemon zest and warm sponge cake, with citrus and vanilla in the peat smoke.
