Jameson – Select Reserve (70cl, 40%)

Jameson Select Reserve is a triple-distilled Irish whiskey from Cork, a blend of small batch grain and single pot still whiskey, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was first released as Select Reserve Small Batch, and on 24 October 2013 the name changed to Select Reserve Black Barrel. It was matured in double-charred casks, with first-fill bourbon and sherry casks making up much of the mix. This gives it a richer character than standard Jameson, with a strong sherry note. The nose is butterscotch, fudge and creamy toffee. The palate is nutty, with the soft sweetness of spice and vanilla, and the finish brings roasted wood and vanilla.
