Komagatake – Minami Shinshu Beer IPA Cask Finish Single Cask (70cl, 59%)

This is a single cask Japanese single malt from Komagatake, finished in a cask that previously held IPA beer. It was bottled at 59% abv in a 70cl bottle, and only 217 bottles were filled. The spirit was distilled in February and March 2016 and matured in an ex-Bourbon barrel for 3.5 years before bottling in October 2019. It then moved to the hoppy IPA cask for its finish. The whisky is lightly peated, at 3.5ppm. Expect fresh citrus on the nose and a slightly bitter palate.
