Leiper's Fork Tennessee Whiskey Bottled in Bond (50%)

Leiper's Fork Bottled in Bond is a Tennessee whiskey from a distillery that grows its own grain and makes everything from grain to glass. The mash bill is 70% corn, 15% rye and 15% toasted barley malt, and the spirit is run through copper pot stills with Scottish swan necks and a four plate purifier. It is aged for 5 years, filtered through sugar maple and bottled at 100 proof, which is 50%. The nose combines milk chocolate, roasted coffee, ripe plum, dark cherry and honey. The palate is complex, with caramel, red berries and baking spices, and it gains further complexity as it rests in the glass.
