This is an 18 year old single malt from Loch Lomond, a distillery in the town of Alexandria at the southern end of the loch. It was matured for 18 years in carefully selected oak casks and bottled at 46%.
The nose is green apple with a touch of grapefruit, then creamy sweetness and soft oak. The palate is full and rounded, with very dark jam, toasted oak, tobacco and nut bread, plus the light peat smoke typical of the distillery. The finish is very long, with dried tea leaves, tobacco and gentle peat and oak.
