Croftengea is the heavily peated spirit made at Loch Lomond distillery. This 12 year old was distilled in 2009, matured in a refill hogshead and bottled in 2022 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, as part of the Alba Trail series. It is of natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose brings smoked bacon, smoked cheese, blood orange and mandarin juice, with a medicinal, earthy edge. On the palate there are citrus, orange, smoky notes, iodine and lovage. The finish is warming, with charcoal, herbs and damp leaves.
