Loch Lomond – Inchmoan 12 Year Old (46%)

Loch Lomond Inchmoan is a 12 year old single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It takes its name from one of the islands in Loch Lomond, near the distillery in Alexandria. It is made from new make distilled in two types of still: the classic swan neck and the straight neck, which is responsible for the smoky, peaty character. The nose is sweet and vanilla-led, with soft peat smoke and freshly ground pepper. On the palate there is more vanilla, then clear smoke, smoked ham, a little coffee, star anise and cloves, and an autumnal fruit potpourri. The finish is long and softly peaty, ending in a tart citrus note.
