Loch Lomond Peated Rioja Cask is a peated Highland single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery, part of its Originals range. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
After distillation the whisky was finished in Rioja wine casks from Spain, which add cherry and plum to the peat smoke.
The nose combines red currants, dark chocolate and light peat smoke. On the palate come cherry, plum and melted brown sugar, with dried fruit and gentle smoke. The finish is dry, fruity and long, with smoke and fruit still strong.
