This is a peated single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery in the Highlands of Scotland, matured in Rioja casks and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery has its own cooperage and runs both Swan Neck and straight neck stills.
The nose combines woodsmoke, malted biscuit and redcurrant with a light wine sweetness and forest berries. On the palate there is honey, peach and pear, dark chocolate and a touch of orange, set against fine tannins.
The finish is medium, gently rich and dry with spice, and the smoke lingers.
