Loch Lomond – Steam & Fire (70cl, 46%)

Loch Lomond Steam & Fire is a single malt bottled at 46% vol. in a 70cl bottle, with its focus on the distillery's own cooperage. Loch Lomond is one of only four Scottish distilleries with a cooperage of its own. The spirit was distilled twice, in a straight neck and a swan neck pot still, then matured in first-fill bourbon casks and refill white oak casks. It was finished for 10 months in first-fill casks from the cooperage that had first been heavily charred. The nose has caramel, apple, vanilla and an almost Christmassy spice. Orange and peach marmalade, roast coffee and cane sugar lead the palate. The finish is medium in length with gentle smoke.
