Lord Calvert is a blended Canadian whisky, bottled at 40% in a 1.75-litre bottle. It is distilled in Canada in column stills.
The grain bill leans on corn, at roughly 70 to 80 per cent, with 15 to 20 per cent rye and smaller amounts of wheat and barley. Canadian law requires a minimum of 36 months in oak, and this blend typically spends 48 to 72 months.
The nose has vanilla, toasted oak and a little maple. Caramel leads the palate, with vanilla, gentle pepper and baked apple, and the finish is medium and peppery with drying oak.
