An 18 year old Speyside single malt from Macallan, released in 2023 in a 70cl bottle as part of the Colour Collection. It was matured in American oak casks with a touch of European oak, all seasoned with sherry from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.
Its light auburn colour is natural, developed over the years in the sherry seasoned oak. The flavour is sweet and citric, with sweet oak, clementine and honeycomb.
The nose is deep with sherry, dried figs and raisins, dark chocolate, orange zest, oak and warm spices. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with dark fruits, toffee, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is very long, with lingering sherry sweetness.
