This is a 33-year-old single cask Macallan from Speyside, distilled in 1989 and bottled by Blackadder as part of its Raw Cask series. It is Statement Edition number 53, from cask 9333, and yielded 172 bottles.
Raw Cask whiskies are not filtered at all, so the bottle may contain harmless cask sediment. The Statement Series is the highest level of Blackadder, a family-owned independent bottler established in 1995 by Robin Tucek. It is built on single casks, minimal intervention and the fullest expression of cask and distillate.
