This is an independent bottling of Macallan by J.G. Thomson, released as As We Get It at a cask strength of 58.8% ABV (102.9 proof), in a 70cl bottle. It is a Speyside single malt from the 1980s, drawn from a single sherry cask, and has a natural colour.
It is reported to be between 15 and 18 years old.
The nose brings shoe polish, sherry, oak, nuts, plum, honey and blackcurrant. The palate is very fruity, with dark red berries, cinnamon and walnuts. The finish has cinnamon, dark chocolate and honey, with no unpleasant bitterness.
