This is Macallan Rare Cask 2026, a Speyside single malt made for Harrods to mark the opening of its new Macallan Boutique in June 2026. Only 100 bottles were produced, in a 70cl size.
The Rare Cask releases come from casks chosen for a rich raisin sweetness, which the source of the flavour, sherry seasoned European oak, brings to the spirit.
The nose is soft vanilla and rich raisin, then fresh apple, lemon and orange. On the palate an intense raisin sweetness leads to vanilla and dark chocolate, with light citrus zest. The finish is long, rich and velvety.
