Mars 8 Year Old Asagi Madara 2020 Limited Release (70cl, 48%)

A Japanese blended whisky from the Shinshu distillery, made from grain and malt whiskies and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The 8 year age statement refers to the youngest whisky in the blend. This limited release marks the completion of the distillery's renovation in September 2020. The label shows a butterfly that visits the village of Miyada in Shinshu every September, painted by the artist Asagu Madara. The nose is sweet caramel, fine spices and vanilla. The palate is lightly smoky and very fruity, with peach, melon, lemon marmalade and vanilla. The finish is long and sweet, with white pepper and oak.
