Newport Canadian XL is a blended Canadian whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a lightweight 750ml PET bottle, a format that suits places where glass is not allowed.
It is meant for mixing, in a highball with soda water and a lemon twist, a whisky sour or a 7 & 7.
The nose is mild, with light cereal grain, gentle sweetness and a hint of vanilla. The palate is clean and grain-forward, with caramel and a touch of rye spice. The finish is short and clean, with a little warmth and a faint trace of soft oak.
