Nikka Pure Malt Black (50cl, 43%)

Nikka Pure Malt Black is a Japanese malt whisky made mainly from Yoichi distillery malt, bottled at 43% in a 50cl bottle. It is marked by powerful peat, a rich taste and firm flavour. The nose pairs sweet, fruity notes of peach marmalade and oranges with dry, earthy peat, faint smoke and oak, plus noticeable vanilla and hints of flowery honey. On the palate the peat grows, with a slightly peppery edge, ripe fruit, a little toffee and salty liquorice at the end. The finish is spice, sweet cocoa and smoke.
