Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese malt whisky from Nikka, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fruity, led by citrus such as orange and by juicy pear. It develops towards lightly herbal notes with a hint of peat and a slight bitterness, moving from orange to grapefruit. The palate is round and delicate, with cereal notes beside soft spices and a touch of cardamom, and candied fruit adding depth and length. The finish follows on with a discreet bitterness and peat, recalling dark chocolate.
