Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Non Aged (70cl)

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese malt whisky without an age statement, introduced in 2020 with an enhanced recipe and a new label design. The label pays homage to Masataka Taketsuru, Nikka's founder, who learned whisky-making in Scotland and brought that knowledge to Japan. The nose opens with butterscotch and vanilla toffee, moving to barley sugar, toffee apples, peach, spiced bread and light honey, with candied citrus peel lingering. The palate has honey on brown bread and fresh apple, then treacle toffee, raisins, pears and fruit cake. The finish brings sugared apple and toffee, then cinnamon toast.
