Octomore 13.3 is a single malt from Bruichladdich in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 61.1% ABV. It is a single estate, single vintage release, distilled from barley grown on one farm on Islay and made with super-heavy peat.
It matures mainly in first fill ex-American whiskey barrels, with second fill European oak casks from Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain added. Head Distiller Adam Hannett works with the base spirit each harvest provides.
Expect vanilla and brown sugar alongside fresh, round green fruit, with gentle, dry smoke. The long finish carries hints of creosote and sea spray.
