Octomore 16.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made with Scottish barley malted to 101.4ppm. It is bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then finished in Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks.
The nose combines soft dried fruit, sunbaked tropical fruit and delicate florals with earthy peat, toasted oak, honeysuckle, orange blossom and a salty breeze. The palate is rich and sweet with smoke, caramelised sugar, roasted nuts and dried fruit, then candied peel, warming spices and a touch of sea salt.
