A single cask Octomore from Bruichladdich on Islay, known as Ochdamh-mòr and bottled at a cask strength of 66.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is super heavily peated, made from barley peated to 101.4 PPM.
The spirit was distilled in 2018 and matured for five years in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colour. 240 bottles were filled, for the Austrian market.
The nose brings deep wood smoke, burnt oak, dried vanilla pod, ripe yellow apples and a salty sea breeze. On the palate are peat ash, campfire smoke, sweet malt, caramel and toasted wood, followed by a very long, dry, smoky finish.
