Octomore Single Cask 9 Years Old

Octomore Single Cask is a nine year old single malt from Bruichladdich on the Isle of Islay, drawn from the distillery's super-heavily peated Octomore range. The barley was malted to 137.3 PPM. Rather than a vatting of many casks, it comes from one first-fill bourbon cask, where the spirit spent nine years before being bottled at natural cask strength. First-fill bourbon wood brings vanilla, sweetness and soft oak. The result is a pale gold, rich and viscous whisky in which smoke and sweet oak sit in balance.
