This is a single cask Dailuaine from Speyside, aged 21 years and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular series. It is bottled at 51.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a refill hogshead and is non-chill-filtered, with natural colour.
The nose brings warm spice, beeswax, orchard fruit and polished oak, along the lines of spiced apple cake. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with stewed plums, malted barley, nutmeg and dark honey over a silky, slightly waxy texture. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, oaky spice, toasted almonds and a hint of herbal sweetness.
