Peerless Toasted Bourbon (75cl, 55%)

Peerless Toasted Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 55% (110 proof). This is Batch 1. It is matured in two stages: first in a char level three oak barrel, then in a toasted barrel. The first barrel is described as giving caramel, brown sugar and toffee, while the toasted barrel adds honey, vanilla, toasted spices and chocolate. The nose is caramel, brown sugar and honey, with vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate there is toffee, vanilla and chocolate, with warm toasted spice and a gentle honey sweetness. The finish is long, with toasted oak, sweet vanilla and a touch of spice.
