Port Charlotte 10 Year Old is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is made from 100% Scottish barley peated to 40ppm, and was distilled, aged and bottled on Islay.
The ten years in oak are split between American first-fill whiskey casks (65%), American second-fill whiskey casks (10%) and French second-fill casks (25%). It is bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose combines smoke with golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, lemon meringue and clementine, alongside wild thyme and heather. On the palate come coconut, lemon honey and smoked oysters.
