Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, peated to 40ppm and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The barley was grown on eight Islay farms, Cruach, Craigens, Island, Dunlossit, Coull, Rockside, Sunderland and Mulindry, all within 15 miles of the distillery. It was matured entirely on Islay in 84% first-fill bourbon, 8% second-fill virgin oak and 8% second-fill Bordeaux wine casks.
It is described as dry and smoky, with clear barley sweetness, malty biscuit notes and ripe fruit.
