This is a grain whisky from Shibui's Niigata range, blended and bottled in Niigata, Japan. It combines Niigata Japanese grain whisky with Lowland Scotch grain whisky, made from a mashbill of 95% wheat and 5% malted barley and distilled in continuous column stills.
It is matured in American ex-bourbon barrels, European Oloroso sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. It is bottled at 43%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers cereal grain, baked lemon, aniseed, roasted nuts, pear and honeysuckle with sandalwood. The palate is light and floral, with lemon, lychee, mandarin, dried apricot and coconut, then black pepper and clove. The finish is long, with citrus, ginger and white pepper.
