Sortilege Canadian Rye Whisky Maple Wood

Sortilege Maple Wood is a Canadian rye whisky from Montreal, Quebec, made by Station 22. It follows a recipe attributed to Quebec's first settlers, who flavoured their spirit with local maple syrup. The whisky is made from Canadian grains and aged for three years in oak barrels, then macerated with roasted maple wood chips. It has a rich golden colour. The nose is maple and fruity rye spice with sandalwood, oak, cinnamon and ginger. On the palate it is medium to full bodied and slightly syrupy, with sweet maple, butterscotch and vanilla against rye heat. The finish is long and warming, subtly smoky and woody.
