This is the 2019 release of Springbank's 21-year-old single malt from Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was drawn from two kinds of cask: 45% came from Port casks and 55% from rum casks.
The Port casks show first on the nose, with raspberry, blackberry and plum, and a hint of savoury oak developing behind them. The palate offers salted caramel, dark chocolate, honey-glazed ham, stem ginger, orange peel and more jammy red berries. The finish brings green olive, fresh citrus, vanilla pod and caraway.
