The Balvenie – 12 Year Old First Fill Single Barrel (70cl)

The Balvenie Single Barrel First Fill is a 12-year-old single malt matured in a first fill ex-bourbon cask. First fill means the cask is being used for the first time after coming to Scotland from a bourbon distillery. The malt master chooses only casks marked by sweetness and subtle vanilla oak. Each bottle is drawn from a single cask, with no more than 300 bottles from each, and is hand-numbered with the number of its cask. The nose is honey with sweet fruits and subtle spices. The palate is rich and complex with deep vanilla oak, and the finish is lingeringly sweet.
