The Balvenie 16 Year Old French Oak (70cl, 47.6%)

This is a 16 year old single malt from Balvenie in Scotland, bottled at 47.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in oak casks that previously held French wine, which had itself been finished with cognac. That influence is described as clearly noticeable in the flavour, giving a full-bodied whisky with pronounced fruit. The nose is floral, with lotus blossom, a green flowering meadow and fresh apple. On the palate come citrus peel, spice, sweetness and ginger. The finish is full, fresh and lively.
