The Balvenie Stories 27 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Scotland, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
Its story begins with malt master David C. Stewart, who tried a sample of Caroni rum given by a longtime friend and was inspired to mature whisky in ex-Caroni casks. After 27 years of maturation, this whisky spent seven years in those casks as a finish.
It is amber in colour. The nose offers muscovado sugar, honey, fruit and spice, creamy and fine. The palate is velvety and sweet, with vanilla, toffee, leather, oak and tannin. The finish is sweet, with an oily texture.
