The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 5 is a limited, individually numbered Speyside single malt in a 750ml bottle. It was married in Tun 1509, the historic marrying vessel at The Balvenie Distillery.
For this batch, Malt Master David C. Stewart chose a combination of traditional American oak casks and European sherry casks.
The nose offers rich dried fruits, honey, toasted almonds, vanilla and soft baking spice. The palate has dark toffee, ripe orchard fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, creamy oak and sherry sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with spice, dried fruit and oak.
